16. Riobamba
This apartment on the street, Riobamba, is named after the beautiful Ecuadorian city in the Andes by the same name. And this exquisite, very fresh studio, perfectly situated near Recoleta, certainly lives up to the name. Some 34 sq m and with a cool, contemporary design, it has great views over the Aguas Argentinas palace, a functional water-pumping station that is one of loveliest buildings in Buenos Aires (its façade is made from Royal Doulton porcelain, imported from Britain when Argentina was one of the richest countries in the world). Full of natural light, the studio has a fully-equipped, modern kitchenette, with fridge, microwave, crockery and cutlery. It is full of mirrors and stainless steel lamps, and has abundant cupboard space. It comes with a huge king size bed, and has a variety of lighting of different colours - blue, red, white - so that you can create just the atmosphere you want. It enjoys an excellent, modern bathroom, with a walk-in power shower. It also has a small office area and comes with air-conditioning (hot and cold), internet, cable television, and a CD-DVD player (there is a large range of CD-DVDs to choose from).

The studio is very close to the metro, enabling you to get about the city easily. It is also near to El Ateneo bookstore (Sante Fé 1860), the biggest bookstore in Latin America in a splendid old Theatre, and to Sante Fé Ave., the best shopping thoroughfare in Buenos Aires (the Adidas, Puma and Speedo stores are near the corner of Callao and Sante Fé). It also has four gyms nearby. |
